THIS IS A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM REV. AL SHARPTON

This morning’s workout reminded me of a simple truth: strength must be built, reinforced, and rooted in purpose. And just like the movement, we don’t get stronger by standing still we get stronger by standing UP, by pushing harder, by refusing to quit. Power is BUILT, not borrowed! And after seeing my mentor, Rev. Jesse Jackson, yesterday, I’m reminded once again to KEEP HOPE ALIVE as we continue pressing toward higher ground.

"Wake up, Jeff." Tadej Pogačar suddenly announced that he would withdraw all advertising contracts and business partnerships from Amazon, criticizing the relationship between Jeff Bezos and Trump. This statement quickly became an ultimatum that silenced both Bezos and the public. "You support Trump, you support hatred. I cannot be part of that," tadej pogačar declared on his personal blog. Bezos, unable to react, was only surprised by this uncompromising decision. Immediately, Trump fired back at Truth Social, calling tadej pogačar "The Disaster of Sports". But pogačar was not deterred. He continued to respond with 8 short words that silenced Trump, and social networks exploded in support of tadej pogačar.

CYCLING NEWS FROM GUYANA, SOUTH AMERICA

CYCLING IN GUYANA, SOUTH AMERICA

Cycling is much more than just a mode of transport. It is a significant global industry, with the size of the international bicycle market forecast to be over 60 billion U.S. dollars in 2025. It is also an elite professional sport, and leading cycling competitions rank among the most followed in world sport: in 2024, the Tour de France’s European TV audience amounted to around 150 million viewers. With plenty to offer both on and off the saddle, cycling is likely to remain a key part of the global sports market for years to come.

A record 112 million Americans — 35% of those ages 3 and older — rode a bike at least once in 2024. Youth ridership saw the biggest surge, reversing a steady decline since 2018.

Cuba’s Liannis R. Mesa Silveira was the standout among the Under-23 women, placing fourth overall in 32:15.6 to secure the U23 title.

She finished comfortably ahead of Bahamas riders Kami Roach (42:45.7) and Sieanna Mackey (44:45), who placed second and third respectively in that division.

Other finishers included Bérénice Paul of Guadeloupe (32:33.0) and Gabrielle Lovell of Belize (40:33.7).

CYCLING AND DEMENTIA

A new study suggests that cycling may play a role in protecting brain health and lowering the risk of dementia.

Researchers analyzed long-term data from nearly 480,000 participants and discovered that those who regularly cycled had a 19% lower risk of developing dementia overall, and a 22% lower risk of Alzheimer’s disease. In contrast, individuals who relied on less active modes of travel, such as driving or using public transportation, did not see the same benefit.

The study also highlighted that cycling was linked to larger volumes in the brain regions associated with learning and memory. However, experts caution that this was an observational study, meaning it cannot prove cause and effect. It only shows a strong association between cycling and reduced dementia risk. The findings were published in JAMA Network Open, adding to growing evidence that active transportation may do more than improve fitness it could also support long-term brain health.
